Jet's Pizza is a casual restaurant chain in the United States focused on pizza delivery. It is known for the "cake of the month" which has caused some controversy for more than 20 years.
Cake of the month usually features ingredients not associated with traditional pizza, such as macaroni and cheese, peanut butter and jelly, toothpaste, whipped cream, or cookie dough. Customers can book a Cake of the Month for themselves or friends by calling their local Jet's Pizza location at least 24 hours in advance.
If there are no orders after 5 days of approval, they will not be served until someone places an order. The cost of this cake was originally $10 a piece, but now varies by location.
Their niche was that they were open late and had a dough recipe with a higher sugar content than most other pizzas: it uses more oil in the skin and has a smaller rim around the edge of the pizza to give a crispier edge.

The story behind Jet's Pizza
In 1978, two Jetts brothers decided to open a small pizza joint in Sterling Heights, Michigan. This place's name was Jett's Pizza, which contributed to its popularity.
People liked their pizza because it was different than others, the dough was extra crunchy, and the toppings were fresh.
As early as 1991, Jet's Pizza opened several more locations and thereafter became a popular local pizzeria.
Of course, the franchise hasn't been family-run for that long. In 1998 the company was sold to Bain Capital and received $5 million from Gores Technology Group in 2004.
In 2008, Jet's Pizza Company began aggressive expansion efforts by marketing their famous "Pizzas of the Month". However, some of them did not meet customers' expectations and caused negative feedback on social networks such as Facebook and Twitter.
Who owns Jet's Pizza?
Jim Galloway is the owner of Jet's Pizza. He is a franchisee and has been with the company for many years.
